Terms of Use
- You must be 13 or over to have an account.
- Only add notes you are allowed to use. Your notes stay yours.
- The AI can make mistakes. Check what it produces; it is a study aid, not a teacher.
- Paid plans are bought through the App Store or Google Play and follow their refund rules.
- Be kind to the app and to the people you share progress with.
1. About these terms
These terms are a contract between you and David Nunes Cuba, trading as FacilForge (“FacilStudy”, “we”). FacilStudy is a product of FacilForge. By creating an account or using the app you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data and is part of these terms.
2. Who can use FacilStudy
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, we recommend a parent or carer reads these terms with you. If you are under 13 you cannot create an account.
3. Your account
You sign in with Apple, Google or a code sent to your email. Keep your device and email secure; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at hello@facilstudy.com if you think someone else is using it.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the notes, photos and text you add (“your content”). You give us permission to store and process your content, including sending it to our AI providers, only to provide the service to you. You promise that you have the right to use what you upload, for example your own notes or material your school allows you to copy for personal study.
Study packs, flashcards and quizzes generated from your content are for your personal, non-commercial study. Do not resell or publish them as your own work.
5. AI-generated content
FacilStudy uses artificial intelligence to build study material and, where available, to answer study questions. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Always check it against your notes and your teacher's guidance. FacilStudy is a study aid and does not replace teaching, exam boards or official specifications.
The AI tutor is for study questions only. It will decline other topics and, if you mention that you are struggling, will point you to people who can help.
6. Acceptable use
Do not:
- upload content that is illegal, hateful, sexual, or that belongs to someone else without permission;
- try to get around usage limits, access other people's data, or interfere with the service;
- use automated tools to scrape or overload the app;
- use FacilStudy to cheat in an exam or assessment.
7. Plans, limits and payment
The Free plan includes a limited number of scans each month. Plus and Pro plans include more, as shown in the app. Limits reset monthly. Paid plans are subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play; those stores handle billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds under their own terms. If you are under 18, purchases may need approval from the family organiser (for example Apple's Ask to Buy). Prices and limits can change; we will tell you before a change affects a plan you already pay for.
8. Study partners
You can invite someone to see parts of your progress. You control what they see and can remove them at any time. Partners must use the information only to support your studies.
9. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings or by following Delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why unless the law prevents it. Sections that by their nature should survive (for example 4, 10 and 11) continue after your account ends.
10. Our responsibility to you
We provide FacilStudy with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for exam results, for AI mistakes you did not check, or for problems caused by things outside our control, such as your internet connection or the app stores. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
11. Intellectual property
The FacilStudy app, name, logo and design are ours or our licensors'. You may use the app only as these terms allow.
12. Changes to the app or these terms
We improve the app regularly and may add, change or remove features. If we make a significant change to these terms we will tell you in the app at least 14 days before it applies.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you also get the protection of your local consumer law. Disputes go to the courts of England and Wales, or your local UK courts if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland. Please contact us first; most problems can be sorted out quickly.
